As humans, it's so tempting for us to often want to draw attention to ourselves, to our accomplishments, and to (what we deem as) the good things about ourselves. However, that is not what Christ has called us to do.
Instead, He has given us an even greater command and privilege. Paul reminds us of it in 2 Corinthians 4:5: "For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord...."
Life is not about trying to look better than the other person, it's not about how beautiful or good-looking others may think we are, it's not about trying to get others to notice us so they can accept us into their circle of friends or think we are "cool," and it's not even about how many "likes" we get on our Facebook profile.
Life is so much more than all that this world seems to promote!
"So," you may be asking, "What exactly IS our life as Christians supposed to be all about? What then should our purpose, the point of our lives be?"
The point of our lives should be nothing less than to point others to Christ. That should be our goal, our focus, and our aim in life. If we are seeking to draw attention to ourselves instead of to our Maker and All-Sufficient Savior, then we are missing out on the greatest privilege and point in life.
Don't waste your life by living for pointless goals.
Live today with the realization that you were created to serve, worship, love, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ as well as point others to Him.
Live today with the realization that you were created to serve, worship, love, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ as well as point others to Him.
{May others see the Beautiful Light of Christ shining behind all that you do today.}
