"All That Thrills My Soul...."

 “For He satisfieth the longing soul and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” 
[Psalms 107:9]

Too often we look to people and the things of this world to meet our needs and desires.
As humans we tend to think that approval, affirmation, and acceptance from others will make us feel happy and loved.

Instead of going to God when we’re overwhelmed or discouraged, or when we are sad or lonely, we end up looking to people for love, encouragement, or acceptance. Or, we end up going to things for enjoyment or pleasure.

From experience I can tell you that those never satisfy.

Why? Because, neither humans nor anything else in this world can ever give us what only God can give: a truly satisfied and fulfilled soul.
Everything else is either empty or will simply pass away. Only Christ can give us true and lasting joy and satisfaction as we walk with Him.

This old hymn puts its quite well, because, truly, all that can thrill our soul is Jesus.

 “Who can cheer the heart like Jesus, By His presence all divine? 
True and tender, pure, and precious, O how blest to call Him mine!

Every need His hand supplying, Every good in Him I see; 
On His strength divine relying, He is all in all to me.

{Refrain} 
All that thrills my soul is Jesus, He is more than life to me; 
And the fairest of ten thousand, In my blessed Lord I see.”

Remember that no person, no thing, and no situation can ever fulfill that longing and deepest need of your soul. Only Christ can.
He's the Answer and the Source of all things.
True joy and fulfillment comes from Him, and Him alone.
