A Little Different...

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord...." [2 Cor. 6:17]

By nature, nobody wants to be different. Nobody wants to be the odd ball. Everybody wants to fit in, to be accepted, and to be liked by those around them. Right? Deep down you can agree.;-)

However, as Christians, God calls you and me to do the exact opposite.

He calls us to live a life that is different from the world around us, a life that is holy & set apart, a life that is fully devoted to Christ.

Different from what or whom? How different? What kind of "different" is God looking for? This children's praise song helps us understand that a little bit more:

"You gotta be a little different. 

Not talkin' bout being strange as two left thumbs,

But marchin' to the beat of a Different Drum.

Don't let this world press you into its mold.

Go ahead, speak out, stand, and be bold.

Follow the Lord. Do what's right.

But you gotta be a little different."

Be different. Stop living for the praise and approval of man. Don't try to "fit in" to the passing and temporary world, but be a little different by living a set apart life for the King of Kings.
