2023 honestly felt like a whirlwind.
While last year had many sweet moments and memories sprinkled in with family reunions and get togethers in Montana, California, and here in Texas… I feel ashamed to say that it seemed heavily marked by emotional and physical depletion and mere survival from day to day.
Yes, last year was rough. But God is good. And I want to remember that He sustained us in our utter weakness in 2023. And I want to thank Him for His blessings and faithfulness through it all.
I’m thankful for:
- God’s forgiveness for all the times I fell short,
- for God’s sustaining grace in the many moments of the end of my physical strength,
- for precious friends and prayer warriors to run this race alongside us,
- and for the Lord answering year long prayers by the end of the year — such as Miguel’s new job and financial needs so I didn’t have to work more and find more childcare, for answers for the need for sleep (through the amazing sleep consultant) and spiritual nourishment (through sweet friend Bible studies).
This coming year seems daunting with a lot of possible unknowns with my physical health struggles snd potential skin cancer issues. I don’t want to face this year and the “what ifs” with fear or give up. I want to keep my eyes on God and trust Him and glorify Him in the day to day of life.
I pray for:
- patience and wisdom with raising our boys,
- for grace to walk by the Spirit,
- for joy to live for God in every moment and situation,
- and for a growing thirst for God’s Word—to meditate on it and live it out and share it day to day.
This verse is my prayer for 2024:
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.”
